  1. I really enjoyed all of the personal stories President Eyring used to help illustrate the points he was trying to make. As I read the story, not only did I think "Do those fulfilling their priesthood duties understand the importance of what they are doing (especially the teenagers)?" and "What can I do to help them see the importance of what they are doing?" but also "Do I understand the importance of priesthood holders and their duties? Do I do all I can to support priesthood holders in their work?"

As President Eyring spoke of the new apostles, he said, "We know of their great capacity. Yet they will need reassurance in their calls, as we all do, that the Lord is with them in His work. The newest deacon needs that confidence, as does the most experienced high priest who receives a new call." When we sustain people (both male and female) we can (and need to) help give that reassurance to those that have been called.

The other quote I really liked was, "Any calling we receive in the Lord's kingdom requires more than our human judgement and our personal powers. Those calls require help from the Lord, which will come." How many times do we think we have to do it all alone? I love how he says we can't do it alone, but the help from the Lord will come. I love the example of President Eyring's great-grandfather. It was a great reminder that Heavenly Father will answer our prayers and qualify us in our callings.
